About Me

I started to play tennis at the age of 3.5 years old in the Tennis School at SALK, my mother Karin Schultz is the director of the Tennis School and she has over 20 National Championship titles. I’ve loved tennis all my life but as young I played other sports such as Boxing, Chess, Judo and Soccer.

I decided at around 12 years of age to only play tennis and give it my all. Through my junior years I continued to play tennis at SALK, I had big success as a junior and winning many titles and I rose to a national ranking of top 10 in my age group. I won titles like, Regionals, Nationals as junior and even an ITF Junior Event in Edmonton Canada in doubles the year of 2011. Furthermore, I was on the winning team on Men’s Nationals 2009, I won Men’s Regionals and I’ve competed in the professional tournament Stockholm Open ATP 250.

In January 2013 at 19 years of age I left Sweden to play tennis in the highest College division at New Jersey Institute of Technology. The decision I had to make was if I wanted to go for the pro tour directly after finishing High School or take the road through College. For me it was an easy decision since I needed a couple of more years for my body to develop for the pro game and I also wanted to have an education to fall back on if I suffered bad injuries and I can’t continue to play and more opportunities for a job after my professional tennis career.

At College I became the most successful tennis player in history at my school. The first year I broke the school record in most wins in a season with 20 wins and 1 loss, I got awarded the MVP of the tennis team and the “Newcomer of the year” in the whole athletic department with hundreds of athletes. My successful College career continued, and I got ranked top 10 in the North East Region, and I also received the MVP award all my 4 years playing at the school.

Soon after my last college match in May 2016 I tore the lateral meniscus in my right knee. This resulted in a whole summer and fall with a lot of rehab, at during my last year at College I was the Student Assistant Coach for the tennis team to finish up my degree in Applied Mathematics. When I had rehabbed my knee and it was fine I played 3 big prize money events in New York City in the Spring of 2017, I got 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

I graduated in May 2017 with Cum Laude in Applied Mathematics, in June I played German League Tennis in Neunkirchen and I won all my matches. When I got back to Sweden I played the Swedish Summer Tour where the winner is crowned the National Champion. I posted a 29-4 record during the summer and I finished on 3rd place in the Summer Tour.

In my first professional tournament, a 25k future in Jönköping Sweden I tore the TFCC ligament in the qualifying final on a return at the score 2-2 in the first set. I continued to play but could only slice on the backhand and I lost 57 36. During the fall I continued to play, and I was able to win 2 out of 3 singles matches and 1 out of 2 doubles matches in the Elite Series (The highest tennis division in Sweden) and make semifinals and finals in two big prize money tournaments only slicing.

I received another wrist injury but this time in my right wrist in the beginning of 2018 which resulted in a surgery May 30th.

After been rehabing and working my way back I'm stronger, better and more motivated than ever before. During the last month I have played the best tennis of my life and I will finally play my first tournament for 19th months the week of April 15 in Abuja, Nigeria.
